One harsh reality I can think of regarding the tragedy of what happened to Native Americans is that if we hadn't done it, someone else would have.
That doesn't excuse the mistreatment though.
It simply recognizes that with powerful nations competing for land, Native Americans were unlikely to be left undisturbed forever.

Self audits conducted by a state are useful for the state's own purposes, but they don't provide truly independent verification.
If the purpose is to independently verify the integrity of federal elections, there should be an audit process overseen from outside the state.

My point was that we are having federal elections but states are holding the elections. In the simplest form I think what Trump wants makes sense.
States should adhere to basic rules to ensure integrity.
Personally I suspect some states are very likely cheating somehow.
